Most Frequently Asked Questions –Spanish Virgin Islands

Where and what time may I board?

We will board in Red Hook, St. Thomas by D-Dock, at American Yacht Harbor (between Molly Malone’s Irish Pub and Chris Sawyers Dive Shop) which is about a 20-minute cab ride from Charlotte Amalie, or 30 minutes from the airport.  A crew member will be dockside from 2:00pm to check guests in and take luggage. We board at 4pm.

(If you are going to arrive later than 4:00 pm, please call our Shore Manager,

# 340-998-6662, or to notify our office 9-5 EST: #800-395-1343.)

What if I miss departure time?

If you are unable to make departure time on the first day (plane delay, etc.) it is simple to catch up with Arabella. Once in St. Thomas, grab a taxi (of which there should be plenty) and ask them to take you to the St. John Ferry in Red Hook. This ferry departs every hour until midnight and it is $8. You want to go to Cruz Bay, St. John. Arabella will be in St. John the entire evening. Be sure to call the boat in advance and a crew member will meet you at the dock in St. John.

What should I pack?

Arabella dress code is CASUAL at all times: Hat, Sunblock, Sunglasses, Shorts & short-sleeved shirts, lightweight jacket or sweater, walking shoes: for beach and land, Bathing suit.

•  We provide beach towels, blow dryers and snorkel gear.
•  All cabins have normal 110 volt plugs.
•  Soft sided luggage only, please pack very lightly. No safes on board.

What if my family needs (or I need) to get in touch in case of emergency?

One may call the office number if it is during the regular business hours:

Monday- Friday, 9-5pm EST: #800-395-1343

For after hours, try our Shore Manager, #340-998-6662.

Can I access the internet?

No, not on the boat, but St. Thomas and St. John all have places with internet access or cafes.

What meals are included?

Breakfast and lunch are served onboard everyday and are included as well as hors d’oeuvres and a rum special in the afternoon. Dinners are primarily ashore and all are included except one in Cruz Bay.

Can I bring my own alcohol?

No. We have a full bar aboard and we strive to fill special requests.

What time will I return to St. Thomas?

You will disembark in Red Hook late morning…usually by 11am.  If you have a flight that day, we suggest arranging one from 2 pm just to be on the safe side.

How should I dress?

The Caribbean is a very informal, casual area—very beach and water-oriented.  Shorts, T-shirts and bathing suits will most likely be your attire for the entire trip.  Rubber-soled shoes aboard ARABELLA are preferable and certainly no shoes are fine as well!
